Yes, this time around, Lee Chong Wei didn't disappoint us, the Malaysian badminton lovers. He advanced to semi-final in just 34 minutes! He easily grabbed the first game within 14 minutes, with the score of 21-9. I happened to watch this game set in my faculty. Around 20+ people were gathering in front of the big TV in my faculty. It was quite a bad starting for Chong Wei as he was leaded 5-2, but, his composure is what brought him the final victory. He analysed his opponent's weakness and made full use of it to grab all the winning points. At this time around, Sony seemed to be frustrated, he frequently made some minor mistakes that cost him a lot. But then, Sony kept his composure and grabbed some important points to chase the game 8-10, but, it was already too late. This game was really Chong Wei's. He easily took the lead once again and was never overpowered by Sony later.

Cheers for Chong Wei. He made it to the semi final, and this make Malaysia to be able to dream of at least a bronze, or even a gold! Anyway, it is important for Chong Wei to be able to keep his performance and perform like this in the semi-final. All the best, Chong Wei.

Beijing Olympic: Badminton

It seems to be a bad luck for Malaysia's badminton Men's Double team. Our only hope for the men double seemed to have come to an end. With Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heng crushing out of the Quarter Final, our hope crushed as well.

Beijing Olympic: Malaysia's hope

For Beijing Olympic, I had been keeping a close eye on Malaysia's badminton squad. It is the most exciting moment for me in this Olympic showdown. Badminton has long been linked to the one and only hope of Malaysia to achieve any medal in this big game. If we look at the history of Malaysia joining Olympic, well, the best achievement was when Malaysian badminton team won the bronze in 90's.

As for the first match, surely it looks like luck was on Malaysia's side as both Lee Chong Wei and Wong Choong Hann cruised easily into the next round.
