Wall Climbing
"Shah, do you want to go for wall climbing this afternoon?"
"Yeah, Count me in"
"Yeah, Count me in"
This afternoon, my friend asked me if I want to go wall climbing, without any hesitation, I agreed promptly. After all, I've never had the chance to climb any wall in my entire life :)
The wall is located near a small hospital in my university. Upon reaching the spot, I could see a few people already gathering there, waiting for their turn to climb this obstacle.
While waiting for my turn, I observed how they arranged their footing when climbing the wall. Much to my surprise, I found that there was a loosen footing holder. This loosen spot could be quite a challenge to every climber. I tried to imagine how I could overcome this huge obstacle.
hmm... My left hand grab this green holder, then my left foot step on the blue holder. Later, my right hand grab another blue holder up there... All kind of combination popped up in my mind. However, I still couldn't find any solution for that loosen foot holder. Think... Think harder, I told myself.
While I was in the middle of dreaming on how to arrange my footsteps, suddenly I heard someone called my name.

"Shah, it's your turn"
I was brought back to reality. I looked around and saw my friend smiling in front of me.
"OK, I'm... I'm ready."
I stepped forward, tied the safety rope to a hook on my body kit. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly, yes, slowly. Then I looked up at the tip of the wall. It's so tall. Should be around 3 story high.
Again, slowly, I arranged my footsteps on the foot holders. OK, I'm ready, I told myself again. I look up again, to find my hand holders this time. I reached out my right hand, searching for the right hand holder. I grabbed the holder firmly, looked up again. Ah, still quite far away from the goal. After taking in a deep breathe, I climb up slowly again. This is a repetitious but exciting job.
When I reached midway, I had a trouble. I need to climb pass the loosen holder. Think fast, I told myself. I looked up again. This time, the tip seems to be even further away. Gosh, I knew that I've reached my limit. I'd used up too much energy, should have taken a rest before climbing this wall. Upon making up my mind, I let go of my grip, the guy down there quickly control the rope to ensure a save landing.
It's quite disappointing that I can't finish climbing this wall this time, but this is quite an interesting experience for me. It's my first time after all :)**********************************************************

KL Trip - 2nd Malaysian Mousehunt Meeting
First off, sorry for being inactive for a such a long time. One thing for sure, my blog is not dead yet. I might not be able to update so frequently nowadays as I'm pretty busy with my final year project, but still, I'll try my best to post up at least a post per week.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I took a bus from Sri Puteri, Johor to KL on Friday, 2nd January 2009 at 11pm and reached Pudu Bus Station, KL around 4am. The street was much calmer compared to the daytime. But still, lots of pedestrians walking down the street, some taxi deivers waiting for their big fishes, some travelers sitting on some benches waiting for morning to come.
Well, for me, I sat on a metal bar, next to some taxis as this place would be much safer for me to wait until the LRT (Light Railway Transit) to start operate at 7am. Nothing much to do that time, I observe the people walking pass me. Some taxi drivers would come to me and as k if I would like to take a ride on their taxi, but I just kindly refused them, no way I would spend my bucks on them, LRT is much cheaper.
After my Subuh prayer, I received a call from Yi Wen, a friend of mine whom I met through Mousehunt, a FaceBook application, called me. She insisted to pick me up as it was raining cats and dogs that time. She pointed out that it would be much better than to wait until 7am for the LRT. I agreed promptly.
Here's some pictures taken during that day:
It's a great moment we shared together, Mhers. Looking forward to the next meeting. :)

Yi Wen and her mum came and picked me up at KFC, just opposite of the Pudu Bus Station. After a few minutes ride, I reached her house. Upon reaching her house, I took a quick bath. Then, both Yi Wen and I chatted excitingly about the Mousehunt aka MH, some gossips, strategies, her current competitions, hard time in Dojo...
After a quick nap, we're all set to join the meeting at Starbucks in KLCC there. Yi Wen's mum brought both of us to our destination in her red Proton Iswara. I had some great sight seeing during the ride. Yi Wen's mum also prepared a few cheese tart for the meeting.
As soon as we stepped into KLCC, we found an information center to ask for the location of Starbucks there. We found out that there are 2 Starbucks there, one is on the 1st floor and another one on the higher level. I recalled Alan mention that the location should be at 1st floor, so we went straight for that one.
Sure enough, we sar Alan already there, sipping his coffee while clicking his mouse. He's surely early. Both Yi Wen and I were just on time. After a brief intro among us, we settle down and start up our laptops. After sometime, Albert Chua, Wai Hong, Keven and Wei Ling came to join the fun.

After ordering a cup of Cappuccino, I started my day there. It's a great time we spent together. It's really a dream coming true, we met up in the internet, all because of the MH application. Even though some of us never meet up in person before, but upon this meeting, we chatted like old friends, as if we had known each others for years. It's really amazing.
Aside from cheese tart made by Yi Wen's mum, we also had a taste of Famous Amos Cookies and Ng Wei Ling's baked cookies as well. Both Keven Ang and Ng Wei Ling came all the way from Singapore just to join this meeting, really touched everyone there in the meeting.

I left the party much earlier, around 3.40pm as I had to catch my 5pm bus to go back to Johor. Alan and Albert gave me some information of the train that I need to catch to reach Plaza Rakyat. Thanks for the info, guys. I reached Plaza Rakyat safely around 4.20pm. My bus seemed to be delayed a bit, but still, I'm able to hop on it to go back to my uni safely.
It's a great moment we shared together, Mhers. Looking forward to the next meeting. :)
