天空终于转黑了，一阵阵的雷后，毛毛雨开始下了起来。曾经是那么熟悉的雨点在屋顶上跳舞的雨声，如今不知为何一听到后，心里却有股莫名奇妙的感觉，有少许的快乐再加上一些期待，心里某处还有些矛盾…总之就是复杂的感想就对了。

The sky darkened pretty quickly, after a series of thunders, rain began to drip down. The familiar sound of the rain dancing on the roof, somehow brought me complex feelings, a bit of happiness and some expectation, however deep down in my heart was a bit contradiction. Well, it's sort of complex feeling after all.

这几天，天气都很炎热，热到……马来西亚的特有名词呵呵。从一大清早到晚上睡觉时都一样是很热。有时连在家里也会汗流浃背。真的是太热了。在大马的我们本来就是年头到年尾，不是下雨就是炎热，没其他的气候。如果连续几天都是下雨或炎热，这样的天气挺难受的。但是忽冷忽热，时而下雨时而炎热，这样也是会导致生病的。唉，样样都不好。

It's been sunny day lately, from early morning till late night. Even when staying at home, sweat still ooze out from nowhere. It's too hot, frankly. In Malaysia, it's not surprising to have hot weather since it's either hot or rain throughout the year. If it rains or stay sunny continuously for a few days, one would feel quite uneasy. However having rainy and sunny days in between, one might fall sick easily.

不过呢，连续这几天都这么炎热，突然来场雨，整个人也变得开心起来了。一直以来都好期待天气转凉。当初的矛盾心情，也许是上几个月连续几天都在下雨，一看到雨就有些不太高兴了。现在呢，反而很期待下雨，真是很矛盾。

However, having hot weather continuously for the past few days, a sudden rain really made my day. I've been hoping for the weather to turn better. As for the contradiction feeling earlier, well, I guess having too much rain for the past few months really made me not looking forward another rain coming. However, little did I know that I had been really looking forward rain. Seriously, it's just the contradicting part of me.

虽然只是一阵子，但是还是成功把热气带走。舒服多了。我也趁机约了周公去喝茶。凉凉的天气最适合睡午觉了呵呵。呼噜呼噜…

even though it only rained for a while, but it did brought away the heat. It felt much better now. I took this great opportunity to nap for a while. Indeed, it's a great way to enjoy this great weather.

与室友喝茶 （补写） Yumcha with roommate 【5月2日】

其实呢，在翻看手机里所拍的照片后才发现到原来我忘了写这一篇。好吧，就让我补一补吧。首先呢，想让我介绍一下我上学期的室友吧。他是机械工程系硕士研究生，是那种经常待在实验室里的那种人吧。所以呢，可以说是鲜少与他一起出来吃饭。这一次，他说我都要回家乡了，不如我们一起去吃一餐吧，他请客。

Well, while browsing through the pictures in my phone, I found that I left out a passage which is quite memorable. Alright, I'll just write it down to repent for the loss. Before this, I would like to introduce my roommate, well, ex-roommate to be exact since the semester has finished and I would get a new room starting the coming semester in early September. Hazwan, my roommate is a Master student in Mechanical Engineering course in UTM. Since he's doing his course by research, it's kinda hard to see him around except in his lab. This time, he said that I'm about to return to my hometown, it's about time to grab a meal together, he even promised to put the bill on his tab.

到了 JUSCO 的麦当劳后，发现到时间还没到，还没到中午12点。麦当劳只有从中午12点到下午3点才有特别的午餐配套。于是就在建筑物内漫无目的般走走，消磨时间。走累了，最后决定在麦当劳那儿等待。时间一到，我们俩就立刻去点食物。我随便点了 Big Mac，但是室友却说也许可以尝试 Mega Mac。反正没吃过，尝试新的也好。过后，我负责去拿辣椒酱。

After reaching McDonald in JUSCO, we noticed that it's yet to reach 12pm. As far as we're concerned, McDonald offers special lunch package from 12pm till 3pm. Hence, we took a walk around the shopping complex to kill off some time. After getting tired of walking too much, we decided to have a seat in McDonald instead while waiting for the fated time to come. Once the clock hit 12pm, we walked slowly to the counter to order our meal. Originally, I ordered Big Mac. However, my roommate suggested if we should try Mega Mac. Since I've never tasted it, I decided to follow him. After ordering, I went off to get the chilli sauce.

看见了食物摆在桌上，本人就迫不及待想将牙齿陷入这些可口的汉堡包。幸好撑住了这念头，赶紧用手机把桌上的食物拍下来留念。当然，手机拍的效果并不如相机般美。不过呢，好狗没有呵呵。一边吃着一边聊天。嗯，真的是很棒的感觉。已许久没吃快餐了。再加上有朋友陪伴聊天，感觉真棒。谢谢你，室友。这假期里，你一定要好好照顾自己哦。下学期再见吧。

Upon seeing the food on the table, I could hardly wait any longer to sink my teeth on these tasty food, especially the burger. Luckily I could hold off my hunger and took a good picture first. Of course, pictures taken with phone aren't as pretty as the ones taken with cameras. Oh well, it's still better than none, I guess. I enjoyed myself, chatting with my roommate while slowly chewing the delicacies. It felt great. I haven't been to McDonald for quite a while, plus having a friend to accompany me chatting, it felt really great. Thanks, my roommate. Take good care of yourself during this long holiday and see you in the coming semester in early September.

红新月会慰劳宴 MRCS Appreciation Dinner 【5月8日】

星期五下午，老妈去红新月会会所时，他们通知老妈带我一起去星期日晚上的红新月会慰劳宴。这令我想起每年的5月8日是世界红红十字和新月会日。首先，先介绍大家何为世界红十字和红新月会日吧。

Last Friday afternoon, mum went to MRCS (Malaysian Red Crescent Society) HQ and was told to bring me along for the MRCS appreciation dinner on Sunday evening. This reminds me of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day which falls on 8th of May.

一战结束后，捷克斯洛伐克红十字会首倡每年在复活节期间设立为期3天的“红十字休战日”，以弘扬红十字会的人道思想，同时结合红十字会业务开展全国性的卫生、救济、儿童福利等方面的宣传活动。该倡议得到了广泛的响应。1921年，第10届国际红十字大会在瑞士日内瓦召开，决议向各国红十字会推荐捷克斯洛伐克红十字会组织红十字休战日的做法。此后，第11届、第14届、第15届、第16届国际红十字大会多次对红十字休战日进行了肯定，使得红十字休战日成为普遍的做法。 二战结束后，第19次国际红十字会理事会于1946年举行，鉴于各国分会虽然普遍组织红十字休战日活动，但是日期各不相同的情况，指示协会秘书处研究确定一个固定的日子为国际红十字日。1948年，国际红十字会执行委员会建议以国际红十字会创始人亨利·杜南的生日5月8日为全球统一的红十字日。同年，第20次国际红十字会理事会在瑞典斯德哥尔摩举行，批准了这一建议。从此，5月8日正式成为世界红十字日。 1984年，由于不断有穆斯林国家的红新月会加入，世界红十字日正式更名为“世界红十字和红新月日”。 摘自：维基百科

有餐免费的晚餐再加上可以与老友见面，何为不乐呢？昨晚喝茶时，得知有几位朋友会出席，心想也可以乘机与朋友聊天，真是快活啊。我一口答应了。当晚，到了美佳酒楼，妈妈与我登记后就进去找位子坐。我选择了与老友一起，而老妈选择了看顾自己学校的几位小瓜。当老师的责任肯定不比我这个两袖空空的人轻吧。嗯，还是无官一身轻呵呵。

To have free meal and to be able to meet up with friends, isn't that great? While meeting up with friends last evening, I was told that a few friends would be coming for the appreciation dinner tonight. After reaching the destiny, Mega Hotel, we registered ourselves. Mum had to look after her students whereas I chose to sit with my friends. Well, being a teacher is definitely different from someone who is still a student after all.

边聊天，边拿着相机拍照呵呵。桌上的、台前的、身旁的…只要当时有那么一点点动心，都不会放过呵呵。

While chatting with my friends, I played around with my camera. Whatever caught my attention, be it on the table, on the stage, or just beside me, I won't miss the chance to snap them.

看了看菜谱后，感觉上都是蛮普通的。不过呢，都说了是慰劳宴，所以也不该嫌弃什么呵呵。嗯，开心就好。开幕词后，一道一道菜也被端来了。

After checking on the menu for tonight, all the dishes sounds quite familiar and nothing much too special. Well, since it's appreciation dinner, I shouldn't be so choosy. After the opening speech by YB Lee, dishes are brought out one by one.

 

先是道开道菜，冷热菜。

The starter was Three Seasonal Hot & Cold dish.

然后是螃蟹汤。

Followed by Braised Crabmeat soup with Shredded Chicken.

很抱歉，拍到这儿时，突然相机耍赖了。拍出来的都有些不明显条在照片上。看来我的相机的镜头有些故障了。由于还是不想买新的相机，而且又不想错过一些精彩镜头，所以最后亮出手机来拍照。吃了两道菜后，这时有颁奖典礼。每位出席者都有张文凭。说到出席者，他们都是在红新月会有所贡献的。我嘛，已退出江湖多年了，我也许只是滥竽充数罢了呵呵。

The thing that I worried the most finally happened. My camera had some glitches, the lens seemed to be the main culprit. I wouldn't want to buy another camera yet, but I didn't want to miss out any interesting scenes, hence I took out my phone to snap a few shots. After 2 dishes, the prize giving ceremony took place. Every participant received a certificate. Talking about the participants, they are all those who are still actively contributing to MRCS. As for me, well, I've stopped joining for quite a few years, I guess I'm just someone to fill up the empty seats.

颁奖典礼后，还来个幸运抽奖。突然听到我的名字被叫了，当时我还在吃着饭呢。说真的，当时是有些惊讶。毕竟小弟从来都不曾赢过什么幸运抽奖的嘛。这一次不知道竟然走运了呵呵。领奖时，手还在颤抖着，脑海里还在想着为何今天会这么幸运的。桌位那几位在我上台领奖时，竟然竖起拇指呵呵。

After the prize giving ceremony, there was a few rounds of lucky draw. I was still enjoying my meal when my name was the first one to be called. Frankly, I was quite shock. I'm not someone lucky enough to win anything from any lucky draw so far. This was the first time to be so lucky. While the wrapped present reached my hand, my hands were still shaking. I still couldn't believe my luck. Those at my table showed thumbs up.

拿着礼物，心里有种飘飘的感觉。走起路来也犹如背后长了翅膀般的，每一步都轻飘飘的感觉。真不好意思。都说了嘛，小弟是第一次在幸运抽奖赢得了礼物呵呵。回桌后，我挥了拳头轻碰朋友的肩膀。他们也很调皮的要我待会儿请客。来张合照后，我们便选择下一站喝茶。

最后，我们照片中几位去了另一个餐厅喝茶聊天。当晚还有足球比赛直播呢，是阿森纳对垒斯托克及曼联对垒切尔西。聊了很久，很久。若不是隔天早上还需要工作，咱们也许会通宵呵呵。这次的慰劳宴真的是很不错，遇到了几位很久没见的老友。虽然以许久没见面了，但是咱们的友谊并没因此而被时间所洗礼。真的很庆幸。朋友啊，你们太棒了！

After the appreciation dinner ended, a few of us decided to have another round in a cafe near the library. The TV was showing live match between Arsenal and Stoke City, followed by Man U VS Chelsea. We had a great chat for quite a while, till midnight. If it wasn't that some of us had to work the next day, we might have stayed longer. I really had a great time this time, was really happy that even after not meeting each other for quite a long time, we can still remember each other and our friendship won't be defeated by time. Friends, you're the best!
